Hi everyone and welcome to Cub Scout Pack 1294. Orangethorpe United Methodist Church is our Charter Organization and Orangethorpe Elementary is our base school. Currently, we have about 40 Cub Scouts in four Dens. We are proud that Pack 1294 is a Quality Unit and a Founders Award Unit. What this all means is that we have great support, do a lot of stuff and make it fun for the boys and their families.
Den Leaders and parents help the boys earn their rank badges by keeping them and their families involved in many different things. There are Pack outings at least once a month, in addition to the regular Den and Pack meetings. This past year, we went to , Fullerton Flyers game, Aquacub Boating Safety Program, Laguna Lake Fishing, Knott’s Berry Farm tour, Calico Ghost Town Camping and many other exciting places. Our outdoor chairpersons are already planning a terrific program for the upcoming year. The following is a list of tentative upcoming outings: Fullerton Creek clean up, bowling, golfing, La Mirada Theater Kids’ Performance, and Knotts Berry Farm(Educational program) to name a few.
Many Cub Scouts in Pack 1294 are involved in other activities. Not all Scouts are able to attend every outing or meeting. The Pack Parent Committee knows this and tries to plan outings and meetings to accommodate as many people as possible. The events are usually so much fun that the choice is easy...do both. |

Your son and you will have the opportunity to learn about and earn awards in the following programs: BSA Family, Cub Scout Leave No Trace, Crime Prevention, World Conservation, BSA Emergency Preparedness and A Scout is Reverent. And we will do the usual stuff, Pinewood Derby Race, Holiday Pot Luck, Christmas Caroling, Blue and Gold Banquet, Cub Scout Day Camp..
Our leaders are all parent volunteers and are trained in Youth Protection, New Leader Essentials, Leader Specific, BALOO, in other words, we took a bunch of classes and we are doing our jobs well. Just ask any of our Scouts, they'll tell you the truth. Not to brag...ok, we'll brag...we have had many leaders recognized by the Los Amigos District as Leaders of the Year.
